The Potions Cauldron Group makes every effort to ensure that their attractions and retail outlets are accessible for as many visitors as possible.
However due to the location and nature of some of our buildings there maybe some challenges for some visitors with; disabilities, medical and access needs. The Potions Cauldron Group is in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Find Us / Parking
We are located in York’s famous Shambles. It is a cobbled street so please take extra care if visiting as it can be quite uneven. The nearest car park is York Shambles operated by Q Park and has disabled bays.

Wheelchair and Mobility Scooters
We are a small shop located on the Shambles, spaces is very tight however we do welcome wheelchair users.
Unfortunately due to the size of the retail area and experience, Mobility Scooters are not permitted and guests must be able to transfer into a wheelchair.
Pushchairs must be able to fold up as we are unable to accomodate upright chairs due to space limitations.
Carers
Carers are free at the Potions Cauldron York, please bring proof with you which can be an carer card or similar, we understand not everyone will have one so letter etc will be considered. Carers that are free are there to support the person/s taking part in the experience.
For the Adult Only (50-minute) Experience, carers assisting a person/s taking part in the experience will receive a complimentary drinkable potion (non-alcoholic).
Toilets
The neatest access toilet is on Silver Street just at the other side of the market, access is via a radar key. There is a key that the staff can provide for you.

Guide & Assistant Dogs
We welcome all guide and assistance dogs into the venue, should you require a water and bowl please just ask a member of the team.
Autism
We have some autism shopping hour dates in 2024 where we will have few people in the shop, no flashing lights or noises, no music and a calmer atmousphere, these are between 09:00 and 10:00

Should you have any triggers please speak to a member of the team and we will do our best to help in any way we can.
Seating
Our potions experience is fully seated and has an area for a wheelchair also.
Staff Training
We are currently training all staff on Welcome to Excellences’ training course ‘Welcoming All’ this will provide our team with greater tools in welcoming guest with specific and additional needs.
Dementia Friends
Our staff are undertaking training to become Dementia Friends.
