The Potions Group LTD makes every effort to ensure that its attractions and retail outlets are accessible to as many visitors as possible.
However, due to the location and nature of some of our buildings, there may be some challenges for some visitors with disabilities, medical needs, and access needs. The Potions Group is in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We are located on The Shambles, York. The nearest car park with access spaces is Coppergate Centre Car Park, which has 18 dedicated disabled spaces and 10 shop mobility spaces. However, blue badge holders can park in any space Free of Charge. It also has a lift for easier access.

Due to the nature of the building and fire restrictions, wheelchairs are only allowed in The Potions Cauldron shop and due to space restrictions, access may be an issue during busier periods.
The Potions Academy is an upstairs location and is not wheelchair accessible.
If you do have access requirements and want to go to our Family Potions Class or Adult Potion Class at The Potions Academy, please email us ahead of time.
Carers are free at The Potion Classes. Please bring proof with you, which can be a carer card or similar. We understand not everyone will have one, so a letter, etc, will be considered. Carers who are available are there to support the person playing; however, please note that carers wishing to play will need to pay an upgrade cost of £2.49, which includes a magical potion.
We do not have a customer toilet at The Potions Cauldron, and the toilet at The Potions Academy is not accessible. The nearest accessible toilets are at The Shambles Market.
We welcome all guide and assistance dogs into the venue. Should you require a water and bowl, please ask a member of the team.
We play a soundtrack specifically made for the venue, and parts of the class involve sudden noises at times. We advise contacting us ahead of time, and we can go over the experience and talk about any adaptations we can make.
If you require a seat in the venue, please ask a member of staff.
All staff receive training through Welcome to Excellence’s course, ‘Welcoming All’. This provides our team with greater tools in welcoming guests with specific and additional needs.
Our staff are undertaking training to become Dementia Friends.
